National Development

“Freedom comes from Strength and Self – Reliance.”

“The truest success is but the development of self.”

The lines above pass the common message of believing in ourselves. This is the ultimate meaning of Self-Reliance. We all observed the emphasis given on ‘Aatmanirbhar’ by our Prime Minister-Shri Narendra Modi.

‘Aatmanirbhar’, meaning self-reliance is a fundamental tenet based on Gandhian Foundation. Why is its importance being illuminated recently?

The importance of Self-Reliance was coined by Mahatma Gandhi several years back. He had an ideology of developing the newly ‘Independent India’ with Self Reliance. Most of us have forgotten this and are currently dependent on the Government for precautions amidst these harsh days of a pandemic. This is causing lack of awareness. But after all these years today, it took a pandemic to make the human race aware of the importance of Self – Reliance. But many have a question of executing self-reliance. How can we as the youth execute it?

We are the Growing Seeds of the Country. We should take self-reliant steps to help the country to cope up with hardships. Many schools have started Virtual Learning. But due to the pandemic, examinations cannot be conducted in many schools due to lack of facilities. I would like examinations to be based on practical solutions. But many countries including India conduct examinations based on Rote- Learning. We, the students should take an initiative of understanding and practising the solutions. This would not only ensure a secure future for us, but also for our country. Having an Internship in our specialised areas would help us ‘Learn and Work’ simultaneously

We should also participate in interactive workshops. This will not only rejuvenate us but also improve our skills in extra-curricular activities. Looking at the current situation we observe that the economic condition of India is not good. We can even help in stabilizing the economy by acknowledging our parents and the society about the importance of boycotting foreign goods and promoting indigenous goods from the physical stores and not E-commerce websites or Virtual Stores. We should be "Vocal for Local" Goods. We should try to promote and participate in the "Make In India" initiative.

India is one of the most diverse country. But unfortunately, today many of us are forgetting our own diverse and secular culture. We get attracted to the Western culture and this costs a downfall to our own nation. Promoting our culture is a responsible job these days. Technology has found its own way to reach a large number of people. Hence technology can be used as a mass media platform to promote our culture. This will cause an innovation of the significance of India in the globe.

These are some steps we as the youth can take up for the National Development of India.

We have won many battles with moral values and I strongly believe that we will also win this Battle with Coronavirus with the moral value of Self-Reliance. We, the youth, will help our Motherland develop and prosper in every possible way.
